The coaching community is one of the most supportive in the world. Coaches know how to support one another. When you train as a Co-Active Coach with CTI you are not on your own. As well as the informal support from the people you are training with CTI offers ongoing help and guidance in the form of mentoring calls. These freecalls, which are uniquely available to UK core curriculum participants, are available to you at any time during or after your training.

These calls are one-on-one 30 minute telephone sessions with Senior Coaches from our team; coaches who’ve been there and done it. They’re not standard coaching calls, but instead designed to offer you the opportunity to ask any questions you have about coaching while you are training. On these calls we’ve covered everything from supporting new coaches in developing their business, to ideas for how to design workshops, to helping coaches learn and develop from difficult calls with their clients.

To book a mentoring call all you need to do is email ctiuk@co-activecoaching.co.uk or call us on 0845 299 8199 and you can book an available time slot. Please note that you are not assigned a specific mentor. Your calls may be with the same member of the team or not. It depends on who is available at the time.

Here are some other ideas for how you can get the most from your training:

Practice, Practice, Practice
You don’t have to have coaching clients as you go through the Core Curriculum and it is a great idea if you do! We have noticed that people who do have a coaching client or clients as they train learn so much more.

Your Training Group
People who train together as Co-Active Coaches share powerful experiences and deep friendships are formed. To maximise the support available to you here are a few things you can do:
- Create an email group so you can keep in touch with each other during and after the training.
- Set up a buddy coaching system. This means organising yourselves into groups of 2 or 3 and arranging to meet up on the phone regularly; once a week or once a fortnight. Each time you meet you coach each other and give feedback on the coaching you have received.
- Make a point of keeping in touch by phone with other people in the group.

The Co-Active Network & European Co-Active Coaches
There’s an active community of Co-Active Coaches out there. One of the ways that they stay in touch is through The Co-Active Network www.coactivenetwork.com. The Co-Active Network is there to support your ongoing personal and professional development. Please visit it. Registration is free and immediate and there are many niches and communities you can join.

There is also a specific community for Co-Active Coaches based in Europe called European Co-Active Coaching. Join that group to meet up with other European Co-Active Coaches online and also to find out about the non-for-profit Community Days that are run in London about twice a year.

Get in touch and Meet up with other Coaches
The Eurocoachlist is an independent email group with over 800 members. It is run by a coach and has been running for at least 6 years. It is the largest online group of European Coaches trained by all different schools.

It is free to join for the first 3 months and it is mainly a very supportive group. You can also post messages and get in touch with coaches in your area and find out about coaching groups that may already exist in your area.

The website can be found at www.eurocoachlist.com

And after your initial training, remember to continue your professional developement
This year the UK ICF has launched its new framework for continuing professional development. All the events are open to members and non-members. You can find out more by clicking here.

Let us know if you have any questions about any of the above and we will do our best to help. You can get in touch by calling us on +44(0)845 299 8199 or emailing us at ctiuk@co-activecoaching.co.uk
